Years of history and education
Joan School of Nursing is one kind because it was started from a humble background by a group of nurses. They were motivated to initiate and develop a nursing school following the 2007/2008 skirmishes which almost paralyzed health activities in different countries in Kenya due to shortage of health staff especially nurses. It also revealed that there is acute shortage of nurses in the country.
A curriculum was developed which was approved by Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) in 2013 to train diploma in General nursing, a course lasting 3 years.
The Inception was in 2014 when the school started with 5 students in March and another 8 students in September. A total of 13 students. From that time we have been able to admit an average of 10 students per year which is far below our recommended enrollment number.
To date we have graduated 80+ nurses with excellent performance because of quality training we offer at the Joan School of Nursing.
